About the Event
Now is the perfect time to consider how biblically based social-emotional learning can support teachers, students, and families in the aftermath of COVID-19.
SEL is more vital than ever before. School communities that make people feel safe, successful, and supported engage and retain families. In this webinar, we will briefly discuss what SEL is and why it sets your school apart. We will talk about how to develop a school climate and culture through SEL and how to share the great things happening in your school to involve all stakeholders to be actively engaged in the community, ultimately resulting in higher retention rates. Parents have more choices than ever in how and where to educate their children. According to the national market research by NCEA and FADICA, preparing students for the job market, teaching strong communication skills, moral development and a strong sense of community are among the top reasons parents choose Catholic schools.
Biblically-based social emotional learning (SEL) teaches students how to manage their emotions, set and achieve goals, overcome obstacles, and develop healthy relationships – skills necessary to succeed in school, be prepared for the workforce, and become positive and healthy contributors to society. With whole-school SEL, student academic success and engagement increases, and student behavioral challenges and teacher burn-out decreases.
