About the Event

High quality assessments are necessary to provide educators with meaningful feedback related to both classroom instruction and student learning. Given the important roles assessments and assessment data play at the individual, class, and district levels, it’s critical that educators understand the characteristics that distinguish high-quality assessments. This series of four webinars will identify those characteristics and provide participants with a framework for developing new assessments and evaluating existing assessments. Each webinar will include practical examples to illustrate each characteristic.

Webinar 1: Defining Test Content

  • How to identify eligible learning standards to be assessed
  • How to identify the emphasis that should be assigned to each standard
  • How to establish preferred item types and cognitive levels associated with each standard
